"Patrice Williamson is an up-and-coming singer to watch. Her confident take of the title track, with its delicious scat, is matched by her sensitive handling of the quiet ballad "If You See Me Now." The staccato rhythm of "Fascinatin’ Rhythm" doesn’t throw her in the least, while she scats through Bud Powell’s "Wail" right along with trumpeter Phil Grenadier and pianist Helen Sung.

Williamson studied with Dominique Eade at the New England Conservatory, so the teacher must also be very proud of her pupil’s recording debut."
